Supporting St John Ambulance during Corvid-19

Helping Front Line Staff

I am sure most of us will be self isolating at home to try to keep ourselves and families safe and well. We all stood on our doorsteps at 8 o’clock on a Thursday evening, clapping to show our support of the health service workers and other front line workers. Here is one practical way we can go one step further to help to support the St Johns Ambulance service.

Since all Masonic activity has been suspended for 4 months from 17th March 2020, all of our Preceptories will miss at least one of our meetings. If we had attended our Preceptory meeting we would, in most case, have had the cost of a meal (which these days is approximately £20) plus the charity collection, purchase of a drink and the cost of getting to the meeting, all of which we have not had to spend. I would therefore ask if you could send a donation of what you can afford in support of the Provincial Priors appeal.

I have arranged that we can deposit the money into the Provincial Relief chest KT1063 then we will be able to claim the tax back for those who pay tax (this will add 25% to your donation)
We currently have 400 plus members in the Province, if on average each was to donate at least £20 (with the tax added £25) this would enable us to support the work of the St Johns Ambulance service to the tune of £10,000.
There are a number of ways you can send your donation,

Over the last few years we have had a number of very successful charity appeals but I don’t think any has been as important as this appeal. Please don’t delay and give generously and lets see if we can’t break the £10,000 target. I am certain that ALL the members of this Province will fully support this appeal.
This is one practical way in which we can show our support of the front line staff whilst we are locked down .
